Who We Are & What We Do

The Bible declares in Psalm 11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The question is often asked, what can we do? As Christians, as citizens of this great nation, state and community; what can we do? We can take a stand for our faith in God, for our families, for our community and for our future. We can seek to raise the moral standard in our day.

In May 2008 a group of local pastors met to discuss the concerns associated with proposed beer and wine sales in Alexander County along with a referendum involving liquor-by-the-drink in the town of Taylorsville, North Carolina. From this meeting came the idea for Alexander Citizens for Faith & Family Values.

It was then on a hot Sunday afternoon, June 1, 2008, that a group of concerned citizens from throughout Alexander County gathered to lay the formal groundwork for this organization. Rev. Gary Jennings was elected as Chairman of the Alexander Citizens for Faith & Family Values. Also voted on in the meeting was Rev. Neal Walker to serve as Secretary and Rev. Paul Schronce to serve as Treasurer for the organization. From this initial start other committees were formed to handle various aspects of this organization. Today, Alexander Citizens for Faith & Family Values seeks to unite the citizens of our county to face the moral issues facing our county, our state and our nation.

Help Community

The Bible teaches us in Acts 20:35 “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Through these scriptures we support and serve with over 30 local organizations that assist children, senior citizens, incarcerated individuals, and families. We work with counselors and teachers in local schools to help with families who have suffered from hazards such as fire or storm damaged homes. No one cares how much you know till they know how much you care.

Guide Our Children

Children are one of the most important resources for any nation. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” What we teach our children and the way in which we bring them up impacts not only their future but the future of our nation as well. Our goal at ACFFV is to do all we can to help the parents in our community in the rearing of their children in a way that is pleasing unto God and beneficial to our nation.

Guard Our Schools

Students in today’s society face difficult situations. Many are confronted with decisions on drugs and alcohol by the time they are in middle school. They are taught the lie of evolution, which is contrary to The Bible. The LGBT community is attacking our schools like never before. ACFFV wants Alexander County students to know they do not have to be ashamed of their faith in a public setting. We reach these students through various Good News and Bible clubs. We desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to students who may not otherwise hear it, for Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me”.
